1.3 Biographical notes
Gabriella Morisco (born 1943) held the position of Full Professor of Anglo-American Literature at Scuola di Lingue Straniereof the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. She has been a member of the Doctoral College and has contributed to the organization of numerous conferences, such as "Le corti e la città ideale" (2004), "Garibaldi e i movimenti democratici internazionali" (2007), and "Il caso e il canone" (2008). She has edited and translated several volumes of poetry by Sylvia Plath (Le muse inquietanti, Mondadori 1985), May Swenson (Una cosa che ha luogo, Quattro venti 1986), and Seamus Heaney (Station Island, Mondadori 1993). Moreover she has also edited the volume Seamus Heaney poeta dotto (In forma di parole, 2007). Morisco is also the author of a critical monograph on the poetry of Elizabeth Bishop (La reticenza e lo sguardo, Patron 1990) and essays on Emily Dickinson, Joyce Carol Oates, Mavis Gallant, and Amelia Rosselli. She has written numerous critical essays on American Jewish authors (Bernard Malamud, Stanley Elkin, Mordekai Richler, Adele Wiseman, A.M. Klein) and co-edited many volumes on this topic. Furthermore, Morisco is the author of the volume on Canadian-Jewish literature I profeti della terza solitudine (Piovan 1994) and translated and edited Adele Wiseman's novel Crackpot (Le Lettere 2008). Additionally, she has worked in the field of utopian studies, editing the Italian edition of the 18th-century utopian novel Le avventure di Peter Wilkins by Robert Paltock (Longo 2000).

The donation deed of Professor Gabriella Morisco’s Collection was approved by resolution n. 262/2016 of the Board of Directors on October 21st 2016.
1.5 History of the Collection
The twenty-two medium-sized boxes, each containing around 50/60 books, were transported from Professor Morisco's private residence in Bologna to the University of Urbino, more precisely to the office of the librarian, Michele Bartolucci, who arranged for their cataloging and placement at Biblioteca di Lingue “Leone Traverso”.
