Publication Phases
The corresponding author (the one who takes responsibility among the various authors to submit the article and follow the publication process) submits an article to a journal (it's mandatory to use the institutional email);
the journal evaluates the article through the peer-review process;
if the article is accepted, the author can decide to publish it in open access by filling out the appropriate field on the publisher's platform;
if tokens for OA publication are still available, the publication will occur without additional costs.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The number of articles for which APC fees for OA publication are covered is shared among all Italian universities that subscribe to the contract with that publisher through CRUI; this number is limited, and the possibility of free publication is granted to those who request it first, until the allocated number of articles for Italy is exhausted.
