The University Library System provides a suite of tools developed by ThirdIron to facilitate access to electronic resources: LibKey Nomad, LibKey.io, and BrowZine.
LibKey and Discovery
Our Urbis Discovery platform features the "LibKey Instant PDF" function, which allows you to view and download articles in PDF with a single click if they are available among the University’s subscribed resources
LibKey Nomad
LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that provides direct access to the full text of electronic resources purchased by the Univeristy Library System or available in open access while browsing the web.
We recommend downloading and using the extension on Firefox.
LibKey.io

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
LibKey usues Artificial Intelligence to provide faster, more reliable access to article PDFs. It helps users avoid paywall dead-ends, websites where only partial content (such as abstracts or introductory pages) is freely available, while the full text requires payment.
LibKey uses article and journal metadata, source availability, Open Access status, article retractions, and library authentication to deliver one-click access to articles in PDF or HTML format.
Link Resolvers only work within Discovery Tools, the search engines provided by the library system for its users.
LibKey, on the other hand, can be used anywhere users start their research: open web, PubMed, Google Scholar, publishier websites, reading lists, discovery.
LibKey helps with access to electronic resources through multiple entry points, providing direct links to article PDFs.
The LibKey service has been integrated into UrBIS Discovery and various databases. When a resource is available to the University of Urbino, the LibKey icon or the link will appear.
If the resource is not available in the Discovery system, a "View Access" option will redirect users to request the full text via Document Delivery (DD) or Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
Databases integrated with UniUrb resources: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar.
LibKey identifies resources available to University of Urbino users through library subscriptions or publisher agreements, regardless of where the search begins. To access these resources, users must be authenticated as University of Urbino members. When accessing from outside the university network, users must: configure the proxy for authenticated browsing or log in with their @stud or @staff credentials.
