1.3 Biographical notes
Massimo Amadio (March 26, 1956 - June 18, 2018) was a Senior Programme Specialist at UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education since 1996, where he was responsible for the knowledge sector. He had collaborations with various international organizations such as UNICEF, FAO, and the World Bank, as a consultant and specialist in education. During his career, he authored, edited, and co-authored many reports, studies, articles, and book chapters. He held the position of editor-in-chief of “World Data on Education”, a database of 160 profiles of national education systems.
1.4 Date and methods of acquisition
The collection was donated in 2020 by Maximo Amadio's brother-in-law, Lorenzo Robotti, to the University of Urbino following Amadio's death.

The collection is a result of Amadio's research and coordination work at UNESCO regarding education issues and the fight against inequalities. The books on anthropological topics, particularly related to Latin America and in the Spanish speaking world, are included in the collection.

The collection was donated to the University with a biographical note prepared by Amadio's family, containing condolence messages from colleagues and friends from around the world.
